The theme of my portfolio is perspective. I tied the
pictures together throughout the portfolio by either making them have similar
materials or time of day. I also had these pictures go from morning time's
daylight at the beginning to nighttime scene at the end of the portfolio. Three
of the pictures, in particular, that I have in a row do not share the same
location, but do have all wood based materials and have an obvious vanishing
point, which does help to make them flow well. I added the reflection of myself
in the middle portion of the portfolio to show how a photographer sees the
world differently. This is why I took the picture of myself in the reflection
of the bottom of a barber's pole and made the picture look rounded. There is
also an intentional contradictory difference between the first and last
picture. You start out this presentation with a simple nature picture with
nothing going on and you end with busy street cars, but still with nature in
the background, I felt this wrapped up the portfolio nicely. These pictures
were all taken either right next to or at homes I have lived in or currently
live in. I wanted to represent the person I am by taking pictures of all
outdoor scenes. I love being outdoors, going exploring, and I love to see weird
things from odd angles. I had a lot of fun with this project.
