I find the shot of the welder that is farther away more appealing to the eye than the other pictures. I'm sure the bright light draws my attention back to him and I'm thinking there is rule of thirds going on which helps bring attention back even though there are a lot of different things in the background.
I like the 2 pictures that are closer to the subject. It shows that you weren't afraid to get close and capture the image.
